Editorial Standards

Last updated: 12 September 2026

These standards explain how The Geek Solutions researches, writes and updates travel and practical India how-to guides.

Reader purpose comes first

We publish a page when it can help a reader make a decision, plan a trip or complete a task. We do not intentionally create multiple thin pages that repeat the same answer for slightly different search phrases.

Primary sources for rules and public processes

For government fees, entry requirements, applications, registrations and other changeable rules, we prefer the responsible government department, regulator, embassy, official portal or provider. Secondary sources may add context but should not override a current primary source.

Estimates and examples

Travel budgets, journey times, hotel prices, household savings and other variable figures are labelled as examples or estimates. Readers should obtain current prices and requirements before paying or booking.

First-hand claims

First-person language should describe an experience the named author can personally stand behind. Research is presented as research. We do not invent travel experiences, tests, quotes or professional credentials to increase perceived authority.

Updates

A visible update date means the page was reviewed or materially revised; it does not guarantee that every external fact will remain unchanged afterward. Time-sensitive guides may include links that readers should check immediately before acting.

Corrections

Corrections are reviewed against reliable evidence. To report an issue, use the Contact page and include the article URL, the disputed statement and a current source where possible.

Commercial relationships

Advertising, sponsorships and affiliate arrangements should be kept separate from editorial conclusions. Relevant commercial relationships should be disclosed clearly.
